My Adopted Mint Choco Chip Ice Cream

My application for a new special adoption was accepted this 15th of May 2009! Weee! 😀 It’s this really delicious ice-cream, made with love by Emma of iNSOMNiA (Snapbeat.org/pixel/).

It’s not just any old ice-cream, nuh-huh. It’s a Mint And Chocolate Chip Whipped Ice-Cream And Cone. Now how does that sound? Pretty good to me! And what perfect timing to celebrate the coming of the hot weather. 😀

Mint Choco Chip Ice-cream

Before I thank Emma, I would like to first publicly apologise to her. You see, my application was replied to pretty much immediately as no later than the next day I had a reply from her in my inbox. And that was a full seven days ago… x_x

As you know, I’m pretty batty over my special adoptions. They have their own page (I’m thinking of retitling it the ‘Nursery’, what do you think?) and I keep several pieces of information about each one. They are unique after all.

I love all my adoptions (‘The Pixel Chest‘), but special adoptions are, well, special. There’s only one of each born to this world. And the Adoption Centres keep a photograph of each one they’ve re-homed so that they can check up on them and make sure they’re being looked after properly.

Emma should not have had to go a whole week worrying whether her special one had arrived here safely or not. So I really do apologise to you, Emma. I hope I’ll be able to show you that I’m a trustworthy adoption mother in the long run.
THANK YOU for letting me take care of your scrumptious ice-cream cone (that I’m dying to eat! 😉 )!

I’d also like to take a moment to mention a huge contest Kayla is running at her amazing website, Webitect.com.
Please do take a look, because her prizes are pretty darn awesome to be honest.

Exhaustion Patch

Dear friends, affiliates, and visitors,
I’ve just fallen into an exhaustion patch again, like I do a couple of times a year because of the Lyme Disease(out link). I do have good hope however that my situation and that of my family will start to improve once we’ve got into a routine with the three new ladies who will be our home-helps for a while.

Meanwhile I will continue to update the site when ever I can, as there really is a lot falling to pieces which I find sad. And I will be renewing this domain name shortly as well. Going through an exhaustion patch also means less social interaction and blog type updates, which I’ve been sorely missing for a little while already. Older affiliates will have experienced this a couple of times before and so I feel at rest knowing you don’t think I’m ignoring you or acting like it’s a one sided friendship. I do think of you all and look at your websites and work regularly. I’m so proud to be affiliated with you!

As for the visitors of this website, I wish I could work so much more on improving this place so that you can find what you’re looking for, and suggest what is not there. I do appreciate your visits here and to the Subeta Image Gallery and Subeta Image Archives. Thank you once more for being here!

Two of my affiliates, Kat and Vi, have good news to share. Kat is now the owner of her very own domain name, Fluffytoast.info(out link), and Vi’s website now resides under Kat’s domain, at Vi.fluffytoast.info(out link). I’m very happy for them both; they’ve put a lot of work into their websites. Please do visit if you get a chance to; they have new site layouts up too!

Thank you all for your support and patience,
God Bless,
xx Jo

What Do You Say When…

What do you say when you’re sad or have something on your mind and people ask you ‘Are you OK?‘ ?

This is the question Kel posted on Teahouse* this week. And most of the answers were along the lines of ‘I don’t say anything’ or ‘I say I’m fine‘.

So I sat at my desk and thought about it. What do I tend to do? And here’s my answer.

Until 2003, I followed the French custom of saying:
– ‘Ca va?’
– ‘Ca va.’
Which can be translated as:
– ‘You Ok?’
– ‘Yeah, I’m OK.’

And I’d say I’m OK even when I clearly was not OK at all. This got me into a bit of trouble when people discovered I was sick. I was either told that I was lying (because I’d always replied I’m OK, so I surely must be OK), or I’d get a serious ticking off for not trusting them, not sharing my problems, being a stranger to friends, bla bla bla.
But they were right. I owed them the truth.
And when they asked how I was, they truly wanted to know how I was doing.

So now when someone asks me how I am, I try to be honest. It’s not attention seeking at all. It’s simply living by the truth. I don’t go into detail every time though! lol Of course not. But I assume that if someone asks, then they want to know. And if they don’t like my answer, then they don’t have to ask again. As simple as that. 😛

Tell me, what do you say when you’re not feeling great and someone asks you how you’re doing?
